Meet Takazawa Candle

Nami Yoga Studio will hold Charity Park Yoga with various NPOs and organizations during the fall and spring seasons! This time, we will be collaborating with Takazawa Candle. Founded in 1892, the candle making company Takazawa Candle has been providing the candlelight in harmony with nature from Nanao City, Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan. Their candles are plant-based, and the flames are brighter and bigger due to the nature of its washi wicks. As many of you recall, on January 1st, 2024, Ishikawa Prefecture was hit with a 7M Earthquake. Takazawa Candle was amongst the many that were affected.

Our Intentions

Beyond the practice of yoga, which is not limited to one's own physical and mental health, it is about "giving back" to those who have given to us and having a compassionate attitude toward others and society. We have been using Takazawa Candle's beautiful Japanese candles for over 6 years during our Trataka practice. When our friends are in need, we're here to help.

Giving Back

During this session, we will be using Takazawa Candle's flame to practice yoga, breathing and trataka. In the latter half of class, we will invite Mr. Takazawa online for a short talk on the current situation at Ishikawa, about their 132-year company and their elegant Japanese Candles, and Q&A.

All proceeds that day will be donated to Takazawa Candle, and you will be going home with a big heart and a lovely box of their rice based candles.
